I am a sole practitioner in private practice in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. I have over 25 years of experience working in a variety of mental health settings across the United States, primarily providing services to clients who have been marginalized due to race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, HIV status, ability or socioeconomic status.

Some of my areas of experience are grief and loss, living with disabilities and parenting children with disabilities, issues facing the LGBTQIA community, life transitions including end-of-life, and depression and anxiety.  I have worked with many people who have survived abuse and trauma, interpersonally as well as at the institutional, societal, and cultural level.

I only provide individual  counseling at this time and I only work with adults.  I do not provide faith-based counseling.

I graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Texas (Austin) in 1991, and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon in 1997.  I was enrolled in the Ph.D. program in Counseling Psychology at Penn State from 2002-2004.

I have served as a disaster mental health provider with the American Red Cross, for local, state and national disasters including 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina.

I currently accept the following insurances:

  • Aetna

  • Capital Blue Cross

  • Highmark

  • Optum / United Behavioral Heath

  • United Healthcare Student Resources

I am not an in-network provider for Medical Assistance or for most Medicare plans. Co-pays are billed to you through Square. Please contact your insurance provider prior to your first session to determine your co-pay.  There should be a toll-free number on the back of your insurance card.
